2014 Ford Escape Review

Pleasantly styled inside and out and offering fuel-savvy, turbocharged power, the Ford Escape sport utility vehicle blows the competition away.

It sports new sharp contours, a bold new front grille, a wide stance, rich colours, chrome and black accents for a unique look and aggressive headlights and taillights. The interior comes with chrome accents, blue illuminated lights for an ambient feeling, premium materials, flip-sold seating and versatile rear cargo room.

The performance of the 2014 Ford Escape is class-leading because of a 6-speed SelectShift automatic transmission and can tow up to 3,500 lbs. with 2.0L EcoBoost and Class II Trailer Tow Package.

2014 Engines:
1.6L EcoBoost turbocharged inline-4 : 178 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque
2.0L EcoBoost turbocharged inline-4 : 240 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque
2.5L Duratec inline-4 : 168 horsepower and 170 lb-ft of torque

Not only does the Escape look good inside and out, it is at the top of fuel economy among non-hybrid, gasoline-powered, compact SUVs. It is also an IIHS Top Safety Pick.
